Senior Consultant

A/Prof Lynette Shek Pei Chi

Consultant Dr Chan Si Min
Registrar Dr Elizabeth Ang

We manage chronic and potentially severe conditions such as the immunodeficiencies, juvemile chronic arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis, dermatomyositis, scleroderma, and other rheumatological and immunological conditions. We also screen children with joint or muscle pain to determine if there is any underlying rheumatological condition.

The scope of the service includes:

Children's Rheumatology Clinics
Paediatricians with special training in rheumatology and immunology run the Children's Rheumatology Clinic. There is a dedicated clinic on the first Tuesday afternoon of every month, but we also see patients with these conditions in our other weekly clinics. We provide comprehensive care for patients with immunodeficiences. This includes diagnosis, treatment and bone marrow transplantation. Our centre is the first in Singapore to successfully cure immunodeficiency through bone marrow transplant.

Immunology Tests

We perform tests for rheumatological conditions as well as immunodeficiencies. This includes determination of HLA-B27 status, measuring immunoglobulin levels, IgG subsets, T cell subsets, T cell proliferation and tests for other rare immunodeficiencies.
