Haematology/Oncology/BMT (Blood/Cancer)

The Division of Haematology/Oncology & Bone Marrow Transplantation are committed to the care of children with cancer and blood diseases.

Oncology Service The Paediatric Haem-Onco Division has the support of a multidisciplinary team consisting of Professor Robert Pho (Microsurgery and Orthopaedics), Dr Suresh Nathan (Reconstructive Surgery), A/Prof Prabhakaran and Dr Dale Loh ( Paediatric Surgery), Dr Chou Ning and Dr Yeo Tseng Tsai ( Neurosurgery) as well as our Paediatric radiation oncologist Dr Michael Back.
Our philosophy of Total Cancer Care comes in the form of a clinical service, full laboratory service, psychosocial support service, patient/parent education programs as well as clinical, translational and basic research. The infrastructure set-up at our Viva-University
Viva-University Children's Cancer Centre (VUC3), which houses all our cancer patients, meets the standard of care needed for managing immunocompromised patients undergoing chemotherapy and bone marrow transplant, and specialized pediatric oncology nurses.
Shared-Care and Outreach Programmes Besides managing local patients, we manage foreign patients from the region including East and West Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei, Burma, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Philippines and Sri Lanka.
We run shared-care programmes as well as outreach programmes with paediatrics oncologists in these countries especially through the ASEAN Children's Foundation and Viva Foundation to design special treatment protocols tailored to their needs. We organise an annual Childhood Cancer Workshop for training and clinical updates on childhood cancer for the region.
The clinic is located at Viva-University Children's Cancer Centre (VUC3) on level 8 of our Kent Ridge Wing 2 building.
