Telephones
For patients staying in Deluxe Suite, 'A' and 'B1' Class wards, your telephone extension is indicated on your telephone. Between 10.00pm to 7.00am, your incoming calls will be handled through our Call Assist Centre to ensure that your rest is not disturbed. To make an extension call, dial "9" followed by the telephone number you wish to connect. For overseas calls, please dial "0" to contact our Call Assist Centre.
You can page by dialing "9" and then wait to get a line. Dial the required pager number and wait for the beeping tone. Then press the " * " key once, followed by 6772 XXXX (XXXX - the extension number indicated on the telephone). Finish by pressing " * " twice. Wait for the beeping tone and replace handset.
Note: Telephone charges for overseas calls will be included in your hospital bill and are not claimable through Medisave.

Handphones
Use of handphones is discouraged in the wards as they may interfere with the medical equipment. Please request that your visitors switch off their handphones while in the ward.
Use of handphones are strictly prohibited in the High Dependency Care and Intensive Care areas as it may interfere with certain electronic equipment in use.

Television
Local television programmes and SCV channels are available for patients in Deluxe, 'A' and 'B1' Class. For patients in 'B2' and 'C' Class wards, local television programmes are available from the TV Set in the Day Room.
When watching television in a shared facility, we request that you lower the volume so as not to disturb your roommates.

Toiletries
Patients in Deluxe, 'A' and 'B' Class wards will received an amenity pack containing a face towel. toothbrush, toothpaste, shower cap, comb and pen. Shampoo and shower gel are also available in the shower room in the ward for your use.
If there is anything else you may need to make your stay more comfortable, please approach your ward nurses.

Room Lights
You can control the room lightings using the control panel which can be found at your bedside and on the nurse call handset.

Bed
Your bed can be adjusted to a position most comfortable to you. You can adjust it by using the control panels on both sides of your bed or through remote control.

Overhead Table
The overhead table is specially designed to enable you to eat or write while in bed, or sitting on a chair. To adjust the height of the table top, release the lever beneath the table and shift the tabletop gently.

Nurse Call System
Please press the red button on the handset of the Nurse Call System located at your bedside and in the bathroom if you need any assistance from our nurses.

Air-Con Control
If your ward is air-conditioned, the temperature of your room can be adjusted using the control panel located near the entrance to your room.

Laundry Service
Laundry service is available for patients staying in Kent Ridge Wing 2. Please ask the nurse for the price list.

Newspapers/Mail
A copy of The Straits Times will be delivered daily to the Deluxe, 'A' and 'B' Class patients. Please let your nurse know if you prefer to receive Lianhe Zaobao or Berita Harian. Daily newspapers are also available in all the wards' Day Rooms.
