Division Of Infectious Diseases

The Division of Infectious Diseases at NUH is staffed by academic physicians from NUS and clinicians from NUH. We manage a variety of conditions ranging from tropical infectious diseases such as complicated malaria and dengue hemorrhagic fever to extrapulmonary tuberculosis and emerging infectious diseases.

We also run a small travel and vaccination clinic as well as an outpatient antibiotic service. We provide inpatient consultations and a full outpatient clinic service. In addition, we have 24/7 emergency coverage for needlestick injury or urgent infectious disease questions.

Our main research interests include nosocomial infections - in particular device associated infections in hospitalised patients, Staphylococcus aureus infections including methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus, infections in intravenous drug abusing populations and other emerging infectious diseases including SARS and pandemic influenza.

We also have research collaborations with many international, regional and local institutions. We also hold weekly core lectures on Infections in Immunocompromised Hosts. Please click here to access the lectures.
