Overview

The department provides clinical services in the disciplines of Endodontics, Operative Dentistry, and Prosthodontics. Many aspects of treatment are in the realm of aesthetic dentistry, and this ranges from conservative procedures such as bleaching and veneers to more extensive work including crown and bridgework, dental implants and partial and complete dentures. Other services include the provision of root canal therapy and maxillo-facial prostheses such as prosthetic ears, eyes and noses. Another notable development is in the growing area of the non-surgical management of patients suffering from Temporomandibular Joint Disorders (TMD).

A high standard of care goes hand-in-hand with a culture of quality laboratory and clinical research. The department has several patents to its credit and continues to produce publications in highly reputable international journals. Our areas of interest include the development of biocompatible restorative materials and regeneration of associated tooth tissues and photochemotherapy based approaches to control diseases with minimal intervention.

The department shares the philosophy that whilst patients are treated in a multi-disciplinary setting, the patient remains as our prime focus. This calls for a strong collaboration with other disciplines which is advantageously situated within the same premises. Patients can be confident that they are treated in a caring environment of highly skilled clinicians with quality facilities and modern equipment and materials.
