Overview
The Department of Dietetics provides a wide range of Dietetics services to our patients. As Dietitians, we provide diet counselling and advice on nutritional therapy, assess the nutritional intake and requirements of patients and help to plan and design special diets to suit their medical conditions. Our therapeutic diets are aimed at improving patients' clinical outcome, for example, ensuring better blood sugar control for diabetes and achieving normal cholesterol level for cardiac patients. In addition, we also specialised in planning tube feeding requirements for patients.
We are also involved in setting guidelines on hospital diets, nutrition related research, community services and conducting continuing education programs for professional medical personnel and students.
Besides caring for patients’ nutritional needs, the department provides external services to companies such as health talks, workshops on various health topics, cooking demonstration on healthy dishes and nutrition education booth.
