The University Surgical Centre (USC), home to a unique group of highly specialized surgeons and staff, is a one-stop location for all comprehensive surgical treatments by combining synergies amongst its various surgical disciplines.
Led by our Chairman Professor Lee Chuen Neng, USC is currently the only multi-disciplinary specialty-based surgical group in Singapore, where our surgeons continuously review and benchmark ourselves against the best clinical surgical outcomes in the world.
Located within National University Hospital, the Centre’s facilities include 8 consultation rooms, 2 counseling rooms, 2 treatment rooms and a procedure room serving patients spread across a wide spectrum of surgical disciplines encompassing:
- Breast Surgery
- Cardiac, Thoracic & Vascular Surgery
- Neurosurgery
- Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery
- Paediatric Surgery
- Thyroid & Endocrine Surgery
- Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Surgery.
Other clinics that are under the USC’s umbrella include the Aesthetics Plastic Surgery Centre, the Colorectal Clinic, the Urology Centre and the Pelvic Floor Centre.
At the clinical/research level, the Centre aims to serve as an international quality training ground for advanced medical education, as well as providing a platform for research collaborations and development for new services. With the Centre’s expanding pool of some of the best and brightest surgeons in the region for training and research, USC has recently set up the new Tan Sri Khoo Teck Puat Advanced Surgical Training Centre (ASTC). Officially slated for launch in 2008, ASTC hopes to develop state-of-the-art excellence in surgical trainings, combining synchronized practice and enhancing translational medicine with systematic teaching and training.
At USC, our highly-specialized NUH surgeons & staff work and communicate closely as a team to ensure that only the best care and service is delivered to our patients, adhering closely to our USC motto – “Patients come first, everything else is second”. Our surgical staff is also on standby – 24 hours a day – to care for their patients and cater to any emergencies/situations that may arise. Integrity and high ethical standards are highly valued above all, and each and every one of our staff is guided by our USC principle – “Everything that the patient needs, and only what the patient needs”.
