Advanced Specialist Training (AST) for Respiratory Medicine and
Intensive Care Medicine

We offer a three-year AST programme for our registrars, with the approval of the Respiratory Medicine Joint Committee on Specialist Training (JCST). During the programme, reviews of the trainees’ performance will be carried out regularly by the JCST. At the end of the programme, subject to a satisfactory performance at an Exit examination conducted by the JCST, the trainees will be accredited as a specialist in Respiratory Medicine by the Specialists Accreditation Board (SAB) and will be eligible for the Fellowship of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore (FAMS).

For doctors who intend to further sub-specialise, our Division is an accredited centre for AST in Intensive Care Medicine.
