Critical Care

We have a fully equipped Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) and High Dependency (HD) Unit, both of which are fully computerised. Our MICU is equipped with modern ventilators and advanced equipment which are capable of providing state-of-the-art treatment such as high-frequency oscillatory ventilation, intermittent and continuous renal replacement therapy (dialysis), and inhaled nitric oxide. Procedures like pulmonary artery catheterisation, transpulmonary thermodilution (using the PiCCO system), arterial pressure waveform analysis (using the FloTrac system), oesophageal Doppler monitoring (using the CardioQ system), non-invasive ventilation, bronchoscopy and percutaneous dilational tracheotomy are routinely performed. Both our MICU and HD take referrals from all branches of medicine and onco-hematology and are supported by intensivists, fellows, experienced nursing staff and respiratory therapists.
