Our Orthopaedic Trauma Surgeons have a wealth of experience in
managing all manner of orthopaedic bone and soft tissue injuries.
In particular, they are experts in the management of complex
periarticular fractures of the lower and upper limb, including pelvic
and acetabular fractures. They are also local pioneers of the
used of minimally invasive and computer navigation-aided techniques in
the treatment of fractures. In collaboration with the
Department
of Hand & Reconstructive Microsurgery, NUH, our trauma surgeons
are experts
in the managment of open fractures, and also fractures that have healed
poorly (malunion) or failed to heal (nonunion). Some of these
cases may require advanced techniques such as bone transport with
Ilizarov External Fixators, bone and soft tissue flaps to cover skin
and bone defects, and even live free flaps of bone and soft tissue,
such as the latissimus dorsi flap and the live fibular graft. Our Orthopaedic Trauma Surgeons are available for consultation daily. For appointments, click here.
