The Centre for Hearing and Intervention & Language Development (CHILD for short) is a one stop centre catering to adults and children hearing, language and communication problems. With the setting up of hearing aid services in 1999, the audiology clinic under ENT expanded to provide a comprehensive and holistic management of the hearing impaired. With the well established audiological facilities, together with cochlear implant (CI) surgery, the adoption of auditory verbal therapy (AVT) in 2002 and genetic study, we are now able to offer a one-stop centre in NUH.
A whole host of services ranging from basic hearing screening to full diagnostic tests are available for children and adults. The significant incidence of hearing loss in newborns and children has prompted us to emphasize our efforts to help them with early intervention and management.
Our aim has always been to provide the highest quality healthcare to all patients supported by the latest, specialised equipment, techniques, counselling and follow-up.
