You will need support from others for the first few times just in case you feel dizzy.
 
 
Move to the edge of the bed or chair.
Use one hand to push off the bed and the other hand to push on the walking frame as you stand up.
 
Hold the walking frame with both hands.
Stand steady before you start to walk.
 
 
Using a walking frame
 
 
Step 1
Lift your walking frame and place it in front of you.
Be sure that all 4 legs of the walking frame are on the floor.
 
Step 2
Lean on the walking frame and let it support you.
Step forward with your operated leg.
     
   
Step 3
Hold your walking frame with both hands.
Step forward with your unoperated leg
