Sitting out of bed on a chair

The day after your surgery, you may start to sit up on a chair and dangle your legs. It is important to bend your knees to prevent stiffness. The first few times you sit up, you will need help from other people to move your leg. Soon you will be able to sit up by yourself.

Sitting

You may need to sit in a high chair with your feet just off the ground. This allows you to bend and stretch your knee.
