Exercise Programme And Physiotheraphy
 
Exercises that help you recover begin on the day off your surgery, as soon as you are fully awake. It is important to take deep breaths and cough to help prevent lung problems that might delay your recovery.
 
 
Keep your knee straight after surgery.
Place a towel or a sponge under your ankle. You may feel a stretch under your knee.
Do not rest your knee on a pillow.
 
Ankle pumps help reduce risk of swelling and blood clot formation in your legs.
Do about 10 to 20 times every hour when you are awake.
 
Thigh exercises are recommended.
Gently contract and release the front muscles in your thigh.
Do 10 to 20 times every hour when you are awake.
 
 
Inner Range Quads exercise   Straight leg raises
     
 
This exercise helps to strengthen muscles on the front of your thigh.
Lie on your back with a towel roll under your knee.
Lift your foot up to straighten your knee then slowly lower your leg and rest.
Repeat 10 times and build up to 20 times. Do this exercise 2 times a day.
 
This exercise helps to strengthen the muscles in your thigh and hip.
Bend your unoperated leg and keep the foot on the bed.
Keep your operated leg straight and lift it up. Slowly lower your leg and rest.
Repeat 10 times and build up to 20 times. Do this exercise 2 times a day.
