| Self-Monitoring of sugar level |
| |
 |
A normal level of sugar has to be maintained
in your blood. |
 |
Remember the way you feel is not always
a guide to how much sugar is in your blood. |
 |
So the level of sugar has to be tested,
by checking the blood. |
|
 |
|
| |
| |
| Why do you need to monitor your sugar level through testing of
blood? |
| |
 |
Keeping a graph of your daily
sugar level shows you and your doctor how well you are managing
your diabetes. |
 |
When you see your sugar level going out of
control, the doctor can make adjustments to your treatment. |
 |
Self/or home monitoring and consequent good
control can result in less frequent visits to the doctor. |
 |
It can help prevent the onset
of low blood sugar reaction. |
 |
It can help identify the type of food that
causes changes in your blood sugar level. |
|
| |
| |
| Why do you need to maintain normal blood sugar level? |
| |
 |
Studies have shown that maintaining
normal blood sugar level may delay the onset, and reduce the
severity of complications such as eye, kidney, foot and heart
problems associated with uncontrolled diabetes. |
 |
Normal blood sugar level will improve your
sense of wellbeing. |
