Do I need to order a Wig?
 
If the likelihood of losing your hair is high, you may want to buy a wig before you start losing your hair.
 
 
What are some of the advantages of getting a wig before chemotherapy?
 
You can choose the wig that matches your hair exactly.
Your wig will be ready for use the moment you start losing your hair.
You may find that it is easier to go to the wig salon before you start your therapy. However, if you have just had surgery, you may wish to go to the wig salon later.
 
 
What are some of the disadvantages of getting a wig before chemotherapy?
 
You may not lose as much hair as expected and hence, you may not need it.
However, you may want to find out more information about wigs and save the information till you need it.
 
 
How do I get a wig?
 
You may want to bring a friend or family member with you when choosing your wig.
You may find it easier for someone to assist you to find the best wig, and help you to remember any instructions given.
Your Breast Care Nurse will be happy to provide you with a list of wig shops available.
