| The National University Hospital has a resource
center for our patients and the public. Called the Patient Education
Hub, it was established to encourage its visitors to take an active
role in their learning of health conditions. |
| The Hub has the usual displays of patient information
materials, e.g. |
Posters |
Patient information
leaflets that can be taken home for reference |
Scheduled video
screenings every day |
| In addition, the Hub is set up to draw patient and
public participation in activities, which include: |
A Self-Check station
for blood pressure, height and weight, and body mass index (BMI)
calculation. |
A “Consultation” desk where a
healthcare professional answers questions related to healthcare
issues, and |
Lunchtime talks,
provided by doctors and other healthcare providers. Occasional
presentations are held to introduce new health products, or
teach specific coping skills.
