Speaker
Dr Carolyn Lam, Consultant, Cardiac Department

Synopsis
Many women in Singapore are dying of broken hearts. Literally. Cardiovascular
Disease accounted for more than 3 in 10 of women’s death in 2008, making it the
top killer among Singapore women. Yet, more than 9 in 10 women are unaware of this. The fact is that some cardiovascular conditions affect women more than men. However, but many women go untreated or misdiagnosed since their symptoms may be very different from men’s.
