Other than presenting as a thyroid lump, the symptoms can include enlarged neck lymph nodes, hoarseness of voice due to nerve invasion, or airway and swallowing difficulties.
These patients are usually concerned about the diagnosis of such lump and consult the clinic for such matters. Our doctors have taken care of large number of thyroid patients and several hundred thyroid surgeries.

Diagnosis and Treatment Options
At the clinic, patients will have their history reviewed and have their lump examine to confirm that it is a thyroid mass.
The Thyroid Clinic is set up with an ultrasound machine and fine needle aspiration cytology(FNAC) facility.
Blood test will usually be done of the thyroid function. These can be done as a one stop measure in order to make an accurate and rapid diagnosis of the problem.
The clinical diagnosis can often to obtained from the ultrasound and FNAC. In cases of cancer, patient will be advised to undergo the relevant treatment which will include surgery and post operative radio-iodine treatment. In uncertain or suspicious cases, patient may require a diagnostic remove of the thyroid to exclude a cancer.
