NUH opens its doors to the public on 24 June 1985 with 180 employees. Treated 56 outpatients and admitted 4 inpatients on its first day.

Installation of the Computed Tomographic (CT) Scanner as an invaluable investigative and diagnostic tool for detection of lesions in soft tissues has contributed to the enhanced management of patients.
