Well baby care

  • Newborn jaundice follow-up
  • Routine and special immunisations
  • Developmental assessment
  • Specialist non-emergency consult for children

Premature and developmentally at-risk babies

  • Long term growth and developmental follow-up
  • Psychometric assessment
  • Multi-disciplinary interventional programme

Inpatient Services

  • Daily physical screening of all newborn babies by paediatricians
  • Screening for glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency, congenital hypothyroidism and metabolic disorders (using tandem mass spectrometry)
  • Universal screening of hearing impairment with otoacoustic emission (OAE) and automated auditory brainstem response (AABR)
  • Paediatrician stand-by at delivery
  • Special care nursery with Level 2 services
  • Intensive care nursery with Level 3 facilities, including high frequency oscillatory ventilation, inhaled nitric oxide therapy, total parenteral nutrition, pre and post-operative care of surgical neonates, in-house ultrasonography and brain function monitor
  • Perinatal high-risk pregnancy consultation
  • Phototherapy for jaundice
  • Breastfeeding consult and advice
