Nuclear cardiology studies are used to assess blood supply to the heart and give an indication of how strongly the heart is beating. These two pieces of information are most important in helping a doctor evaluate a patient with heart disease.
Our Nuclear Cardiology service runs an active programme, which performs more than 2500 studies annually, and is offered to both inpatients and outpatients. Besides providing clinical evaluation, our laboratory is also actively involved in research projects. It has a huge patient database that allows quick information gathering and analysis. The staff are also involved in the evaluation of new stress agents to evaluate myocardial perfusion and other investigative protocols.
