The Angiography Centre consists of a team of dedicated expert cardiologists, specialty trained nurses and radiology technologists. The Centre comprises advanced cardiac labs that perform over 1,900 diagnostic and 1,400 coronary, peripheral, valvuloplasty and congenital interventional procedures yearly.

Procedures performed in the lab include :

  • Left and right heart catheterisation
  • Coronary arteriography
  • Coronary ultrasound
  • Coronary angioplasty and stenting
  • Cardiac electrophysiologic study/cardiac mapping
  • Automated internal cardiac defibrillator implantation
  • Permanent cardiac pacemaker insertion
  • Ablation
  • Percutaneous congenital intervention such atrial septal defect/patent ductus arteriosus closure with devices
  • Peripheral intervention
  • Valvuloplasty

Non-invasive Cardiac Laboratory
Cardiac Clinic
Main Building 1, Level 1
Tel: (65) 6772 5277

The Non-invasive Cardiac Laboratory is staffed with a multidisciplinary team of cardiologists, nurses, medical technologists and technicians.

Non-invasive procedures performed in our laboratory include :

  • Transthoracic Echocardiography (TTE)
  • Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE)
  • Stress Echocardiography
  • Treadmill Exercise Stress Electrocardiography Test

  • 24 hour Ambulatory Electrocardiogram (ECG) Monitoring
  • Ambulatory Blood pressure Monitoring
  • Electrocardiogram
  • Transtelephonic ECG
  • Pacemaker Programming and Check
  • Vascular Echo-doppler Study

Our Vascular Laboratory is housed within the Non-invasive Cardiac Laboratory, which provides vascular assessments:

Colour Duplex Scans

  • Arterial occlusion

  • Peripheral arterial aneurysm

Other non-invasive tests

  • Exercise ABPI
  • Ankle Brachial Pressure Index (ABPI)
  • Segmental Pressure Studies
  • Toe Pressure
  • Venous Reflux Test (plethysmography)

Nuclear Cardiology Laboratory
Functional Imaging Centre
Main Building 1, Level 1
Tel: (65) 6772 5383 / (65) 6772 5385

The Nuclear Cardiology Laboratory performs non-invasive heart studies, using radioactive material, to examine the blood flow to the heart muscle and the function of the heart.

Procedures performed in the Nuclear Cardiology Laboratory include :

Coronary Care Unit (Ward 23)
Main Building 1, Level 2
Tel: (65) 6772 5230

The Coronary Care Unit (CCU) is a 12-bedded unit with the latest state-of-the-art technology and equipment. There are 6 acute beds and 6 High Dependency (HD) beds focusing on the management of patients with cardiac illnesses. These include Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI), Non-ST Elevated Myocardial Infarction (NSTEMI), cardiogenic shock requiring mechanical ventilation and/or intra-aortic balloon pump support, congestive cardiac failure, acute pulmonary oedema (APO), cardiac arrhythmias requiring electrical or chemical cardioversion, pericardial effusion for pericardiocentesis and cardiac tamponade.

Cardiac Monitoring Unit (Ward 23)
Main Building 1, Level 2
Tel: (65) 6772 5238

The six-bedded Cardiac Monitoring Unit focuses on giving dedicated attention to post-elective Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) patients. Patients will recuperate in CMU for a night before discharging the next day feeling ‘recharged’.

Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (Ward 20)
Main Building 1, Level 2
Tel: (65) 6772 2935

The Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit consists of 11 acute ICU beds as well as four high dependency beds. Two of the 11 ICU beds are equipped with the capability of switching to negative pressure rooms with special anterooms for isolation cases as well as one room which can be converted to a positive pressure room, that will enable the unit to support post heart transplantation patients.

It is also equipped with state of the art equipment and patient monitoring system and is the first ICU in Singapore to use the ‘Infusion Transfer Device’ technology. This equipment will enable smooth transfer of critically ill patients with multiple infusions to different departments.
