Bringing Cancer Care Closer to You
The National Healthcare Group, in its efforts to help Singapore fight cancer, established The Cancer Institute (TCI) in the year 2000, to provide comprehensive cancer management programs - from prevention to recovery and long-term health maintenance.
TCI links the oncology services available at National University Hospital, Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Alexandra Hospital and National Healthcare Group Polyclinics. By integrating these services across the institutions, our patients are assured of receiving quality professional care where they need them, in the most effective manner.
TCI@NUH consists of the Departments of Haematology-Oncology and Radiation Oncology. We take a multidisciplinary approach where patients are managed by a team of clinicians from various specialties offering advice and direction as to the best care. We work closely with the cancer specialists from the Departments of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Diagnostic Imaging, ENT, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy and Surgery.
We also actively engage in research on diagnosis and development of better treatment strategies for cancer, through our own initiated studies as well as collaborative clinical trials with international clinical research groups.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide quality professional care to cancer patients and to champion screening for and prevention of the disease through an integrated and comprehensive health system
Our Logo
The TCI logo is symbolic of our mission to protect our community from cancer through a carefully conceived, comprehensive cancer program. The graceful curve, comprising two segments, subtly reflects the idea of bridging across from one stage to another, alluding to the process during which contaminated cells are cured.
The circle, depicting the patient, is sheltered by the curve, reinforcing our paramount concern, namely the welfare and well-being of our fellow human being.
Lemon green is chosen for its vibrancy and healthy out outlook. Navy blue creates a soothing effect, denoting the concepts of healing and protection.
Simple, bold typeface in grey adds emphatic clarity and solemnity to our corporate image.
